"What Democracy Looks Like" 40" X 50" Oil on Canvas (SOLD)

This work was painted in May, 2004 for an arts competition sponsored by St. Louis Jobs With Justice.  The subject of the competition was "The Face of Democracy".  This painting won that competition.

 

        

"You Are The Face of Democracy" at Metro Stop at Laclede's Landing downtown St. Louis, MO

The image was used by the St. Louis Get Out the Vote Campaign, in Oct and Nov 2004 with the slogan, "You Are the Face of Democracy".  Posters were placed on buses and transit stations throughout St. Louis, MO.

 

        

  "The Face of Democracy" - Publications

The image was used for the cover of the Quakers Forum magazine published by the United Church of Christ, Cleveland Ohio, March 2005.  It has been used numerous times in the publications of Jobs With Justice.

          

"The Face of Inadequate Health Care" - Posters

The image was used on posters for health care for all, published and distributed by the United Church of Christ.

             

"You Are The Face of Democracy" - Advertising

The image is often used in labor publications to advertise arts or other events of inclusion.
